Vanessa Spero, Regional Specialized 4-H Extension Agent, UF/IFAS Extension 4-H

Persons with disabilities benefit from the experiences, opportunities, and engagement that tailored programmatic efforts offer. By learning more about the culture of the disability community, this session will assist sites in developing programming to meet the needs in their communities.

Learning Objectives

  • Gain a greater awareness and understanding of the culture of the disability community.
  • Identify how to recognize the needs of the disability community and find available resources to assist your organization.
  • Learn how to plan programs that can assist persons with disabilities.
About Vanessa: Vanessa Spero is a Regional Specialized 4-H Extension Agent. She has a BS in Animal Sciences, MS in Environmental Education, and is currently pursuing her EdD in Curriculum and Instruction, specializing in Exceptional Student Education. Her passions include working with community partners and promoting diversity in programming.
