Management of vegetation is a complex and dynamic activity that spans both private and public lands. The use of the Integrated Vegetation Management program will help to reduce herbicide use on public lands, support a consistent approach to vegetation management through the amalgamation of a single decision-making matrix.

  • Gain knowledge of the issues surrounding glyphosate/Round Up.
  • Outline and recall components of a comprehensive approach to vegetation management.
  • Be able to summarize vegetation management approaches that utilize alternatives to glyphosate and other herbicides.
About JP: Jeffrey P. Gellermann (JP) is the Extension Director and Community Resource Development Agent for the University of Florida/IFAS Extension in Pinellas County. He develops educational programs focusing on the health and wellbeing of the local community. JP is a Florida native, and has earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s Degrees in Political Science and Criminology. He has worked for the University of Florida since 2005 and earned University tenure in 2010. Jp performs leadership roles for both his local community and for the University of Florida/IFAS. In addition, he is currently enrolled in the Certified Public Managers program and an alumnus of the 2006 Class VI of the Florida Natural Resources Leadership Institute.
About Steven: Steve Robinson is the Commercial Environmental Agent-II for Pinellas County, Florida. Steve obtained his bachelor and Master Degrees from the University of South Florida College of Geo-Science(s). Steve has worked for Pinellas County, Government Florida since 1979 and he has also worked for three years with the Pinellas County Extension Service. Steve’s career has included work as a: (biologist, wetland manager, ecologist, geo-morphologist) and environmental educator for the University of Florida in Largo, Florida since 2019.
