What happens when agency achieves CAPRA Accreditation? What now? Learn how one agency integrated CAPRA Accreditation throughout their Re-accreditation journey. Developing section-by-section Action Plans, monthly reviews by Section, Section final reports presented to the CAPRA Team annually, PSLPRD created their CAPRA CO-LAB to further integrate accreditation.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn how one agency developed CAPRA section-by-section action plans to assist section owners and their teams with maintaining pace in updating EOC for their respective CAPRA Section
  • Identify and fully developed plans to review all 10 sections monthly, throughout years 1-5 of re-accreditation.
  • Define how one agency developed their CAPRA Co-Lab, which is a two-year professional staff development plan.

About CJ: After graduating high school, CJ Keester spent the next 8 years handing money to various educational institutions in exchange for degrees and certifications he will likely never utilize. CJ fortuitously stumbled across the parks & recreation profession in 2010, when he began employment with the City of Boca Raton. Alas, shorts and sneakers… ‘The Dream Job’ does exist. Now with the City of Port St Lucie, a newly CAPRA accredited department, CJ is a part of a team that is looking to further train staff on CAPRA Sections, and keep the department on track for reaccreditation. CJ is honored and privileged to share everything he has learned about preparing your department for reaccreditation with his parks and recreation colleagues at the esteemed FRPA Annual Conference.
